Bootstrap Studio Deck
Overview
Bootstrap Studio Deck puts Bootstrap Studio 8 on your Stream Deck. 59 commands on illustrated keys across 7 categories, a T9 keypad that types numbers and words into any field, a save key that reads whether your design is saved, keys that open your .bsdesign files, and eight dials for zoom, focus, tabs, panels, undo and text selection. Fifty-four of its published keyboard shortcuts, each on its own key.
THE SAVE KEY KNOWS
The save key reads Bootstrap Studio's own window title, which the app marks (unsaved). A cyan lamp means saved, red means unsaved, a hollow ring means the deck cannot tell yet. On a clean design the press does nothing. A Design Readout key names the design you are on and its Bootstrap version. Keys that need an open design go dark on the start screen.
OPEN RECENT
Five keys, each pointed at a .bsdesign file you pick in the key's settings; the key wears the file's name. Press it and the design opens in the running Bootstrap Studio, handed to the app directly: no second window, no lost focus.
THE T9 KEYPAD
A phone-style keypad that types into the Bootstrap Studio field you last clicked. 123 mode types digits; ABC mode multi-taps words, with the word it thinks you mean on the Enter key. Holds give the decimal point, the underscore, drop-the-word and mute. Fourteen keys top-left on the Stream Deck + XL and Stream Deck XL hubs; the 15-key Stream Deck pops it open from a key.
EIGHT DIALS
The Stream Deck + profile seats four and the Stream Deck + XL seats six; place any of the eight on any dial yourself. Zoom (turn to zoom the stage, press to reset to 100%), Focus Tree (into a child or up to the parent, press to rename), Focus Sibling (next or previous sibling, press to duplicate), Design Tab (switch between open designs; the strip shows the tab number and name), Panel Tab, Focus Panel, Undo Redo (one step per click) and Caret Word (extend the selection a word at a time, press to select all).
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- 7 category actions covering 59 commands: Design, Component, Navigate & Zoom, Design Tabs, Text Format, Text Caret and Open Recent.
- Neon Glass key art on every command and every keypad key.
- Seven bundled profiles, commands placed, the keypad on the big hubs, and a Home key on every category page.
- Easy Link, per-key sounds, and custom hotkey capture for anything you have remapped.
EASY LINK, BUILT IN
Hold the Easy Link key about a second while Bootstrap Studio is in front and the deck binds the app to this plugin's profile: it switches in whenever Bootstrap Studio takes focus, and your previous profile returns when you leave. Nothing else to install.
SEVEN BUNDLED PROFILES
The 15-key Stream Deck, the Stream Deck XL and the Stream Deck + XL open on a hub of category keys: tap one, land on that category's page, tap Home to return. The two large hubs carry the keypad on that page; the 15-key Stream Deck opens it as its own profile. The Stream Deck + places the four dials and the essentials on one page; the Stream Deck + XL seats six dials on every page. The Stream Deck Mini and Stream Deck Neo carry the essentials across two pages.
HOW TO USE
Drag a category action onto any key, pick a command from the key-art grid in its settings, and press with Bootstrap Studio in front. Remapped something? Capture it in the Custom Hotkey field.
TEXT EDITOR KEYS
Text Format and Text Caret commands act inside Bootstrap Studio's rich-text editor and are flagged editor-only in their settings; outside the editor the same shortcut can mean something else. Publish Online is marked in its settings because it puts a design on the web.
PER-KEY SOUNDS
Every key can play a sound when you press it: pick one per key, or leave it silent. Recordings from our free Sound Sampler show up in the picker too.
REQUIREMENTS
Windows 10 or later, Stream Deck app 6.9 or newer, and Bootstrap Studio (command set from 8.0.1). Keystrokes go to the focused window: keep Bootstrap Studio in front. Nothing goes online.
Same 59 commands, eight dials, T9 keypad and seven bundled profiles. This release changes how keys are set up and how Easy Link behaves.
Pick by face: in a command key's settings, the command list is now a grid of the key art itself, so you choose a command by what the key will show.
Fixed: a custom hotkey captured with an arrow key or a numpad operator (+, -, *, / or .) did not fire. Capture now stores those keys in a form the plugin can send. A hotkey captured that way before this update keeps its old value, so capture it again.
Easy Link: the linked key now shows the app's own icon above its name when one can be read, and the Easy Link settings list each linked app with the face it wears on the deck. A failed link plays a new, shorter chime. Easy Link is now a key action only and can no longer sit on a dial; if you put it on one, move it to a key. The bundled profiles always had it on a key.
Fixed: if the Stream Deck app refused a profile switch from the Open Category or Back key, the plugin could stop. The refusal is now caught and logged. The Open Category settings now name the decks it works on and point you to Home.
Helper processes, and Bootstrap Studio when an Open Recent key starts it, no longer start inside the plugin's folder, so they cannot hold it open while the Stream Deck app installs an update. The shared Pathfinder input engine that sends the keystrokes is refreshed too.
Command set from Bootstrap Studio 8.0.1, on Windows.
