Boss Key

Boss Key fills your Mac's screen with something that looks like work, in one tap on your Stream Deck, and mutes the sound. Tap again and everything is exactly as you left it. It is a joke plugin for anyone who has ever wanted to look busy.

THE SLOW REVEAL. Every screen starts believable, then slowly goes wrong. After a minute the spreadsheet has a row called Snacks. After three, the chart is smiling. A quick glance finds real work; a long look finds the joke. Turn it off if you prefer.

FIFTEEN SCREENS. Update, Forecast, Waiting room, Build, Ledger 1989, Blue, Call, Slides, Email, Code, Calendar, Disk scan, File copy, Boot disk and Virtual machine. Email and Code type themselves. Pick one, or let Random choose.

COVER WINDOW. Cover only the window in front, and keep the menu bar and Dock real.

THE KEY PLAYS ALONG. At rest it can look like a calendar, a CPU meter or a focus status. While a screen is up, the key and the Neo Infobar match it.

Hold the key for the next screen. Esc or a click always goes back, and it can return by itself. Try it from the settings: the whole reveal in 18 seconds.

The screens are parody: they are not real system messages, and no screen asks for input. macOS only. Needs macOS 13 or later and Stream Deck 7.6 or later. No permissions, no account, no network, nothing to install.
