Cab Deck for Train Sim World
by GRAMSHIFT
Overview
Your speed against the speed limit, the next speed limit and the next signal, live on your Stream Deck while you drive the Train Sim World train simulator on PC (TSW 6 and TSW 7). Press a key to sound the horn, acknowledge the AWS or pull the emergency brake: each press works the cab control in the game itself, so you skip the key binding setup. Setup is one word in Steam's launch options: -HTTPAPI. A live cab display and button box for train sim drivers, with more keys for the throttle (power handle) notch and the reverser, the train brake, the next station, the game time and any cab control, such as the doors.
Features
Speed & Limit: your speed and the speed limit where the train is. The number and the limit turn red as you go over it
Next Speed Limit: the next limit ahead and how far it is, amber when it is lower, so you know when to brake, green when higher
Next Signal: the aspect of the next signal in its color and the distance to it
Power Handle: the throttle notch as the game's own HUD shows it (a percent without notches), braking notches on a combined handle, and the reverser
Train Brake: the brake handle with a bar, and the cab brake gauge (both needles) when the train has one, in bar or psi
Next Station: the name and platform of the next station ahead and how far it is
Game Time: the time of day in the game and the service you drive
Cab Button: horn, safety acknowledge, sander or bell, held while you hold the key, back at rest when you let go. On trains with a cab at each end it uses the cab you drive from
Emergency brake: a press applies it and it stays applied, like the plunger in the cab; a release key takes it off
Safety acknowledge flashes when the train's system asks (UK AWS, German PZB, US alerter), red on a brake demand
Custom Control: pick any control of your train from a list, then hold it, toggle it or set it to a value with a press
Keys show what the game reports, also when you use the mouse or a controller. A white frame shows the game took your press; if the game is busy when you let go, the key stays red until the control is back
mph with miles and yards, or km/h with kilometres and metres; brake pressure in bar or psi

Setup
In Steam, right-click Train Sim World, choose Properties and add -HTTPAPI to the Launch Options (Epic Games: add it to the game's additional command line arguments)
Start the game and drag the keys you want onto your Stream Deck. They connect by themselves and find the game's key file on their own (Steam, Epic Games and Microsoft Store folders)
If your Documents folder is somewhere unusual, paste the text of CommAPIKey.txt (Documents, My Games, the game's folder, Saved, Config) into the API key field of any key's settings
The Status line in a key's settings shows whether the game is found, your train and the control a Cab Button uses
Privacy
Runs entirely on your PC and talks only to Train Sim World on the same PC. Nothing is sent over the internet.
Requirements
Train Sim World on a Windows PC, started with -HTTPAPI (TSW 6 or TSW 7)
Stream Deck app 6.9 or later on Windows 10 or later, on the same PC as the game
Limitations
Windows PC only, not Xbox or PlayStation
Controls are named differently on every train. Cab Buttons find them by the game's own input names and the usual control names; when a train uses another name, the key says "not on this train" and a Custom Control can use it
Trains report different values: some send no brake gauge (the key shows the handle only), no next speed limit, or no acknowledge request (the key still presses, without flashing)
The next station is the next platform ahead on the track, which may be one your service does not call at

The API key file is now found when your Documents folder has a name that is not in English letters, such as OneDrive\ドキュメント on Japanese Windows or Документы on Russian Windows. Before, the plugin could miss that folder and not find the key on its own.
