Cams
Overview
Cams puts live webcams from around the world on your Stream Deck: Kīlauea's lava lake, Mount Rainier, Hong Kong's harbour, a buoy far out in the Pacific, the Sun. Each with its own clock, and Random always finds one where it is day. Tap a cam and it fills the whole deck. Your own cameras sit beside them.
EXPLORE — One key opens the browser on your whole deck: nine categories (space, volcanoes, mountains, coasts and lakes, cities, wild places, open ocean, on the road, test card), each over a cam where it is day right now. A category starts with Random, then every cam with its own clock and a LIVE mark for video. Done gives you your keys back.
THE WHOLE DECK — Tap a cam and its picture is laid behind all your keys and the gaps between them, so a bridge cable runs straight from one key to the next. The name and the source show for a moment, then only the picture. Video plays a few seconds behind live; stills refresh as often as their camera does.
A CAM ON A KEY — Put the Cam action on as many keys as you like, each with its own cam, live on the key. Tap for the whole deck, hold to choose another. Random picks a new cam of its category each time the key appears.
ITS OWN CLOCK — Every cam shows the time where it is, with the sun or the moon. Random never shows you darkness when there is daylight somewhere. A cam that is tuning in looks like a television between channels; one that is down says so.
YOUR CAMERAS — The Your camera key plays your own streams: snapshots (JPEG, PNG), MJPEG, HLS (plain or AES-128), MPEG-DASH, RTSP with H.264 or H.265, RTMP, and video files. With user and password (Basic and Digest), bearer tokens, tokens in the address, cookies or your own headers. A Try it button in the settings shows the picture, the codec and the size before you rely on it.
NOTHING TO INSTALL ON A MAC — macOS decodes the video itself. On Windows, stills and MJPEG play as they are; video uses ffmpeg, found by itself when it is installed.
SOURCES ANYONE MAY SHOW — US National Park Service, USGS, NOAA and NASA (public domain), Fintraffic and NZ Transport Agency (CC BY 4.0), Hong Kong's Transport Department and Singapore's LTA (open data), Caltrans live video. Every cam credits its source. No aggregators, nothing non-commercial.
ON THE STREAM DECK NEO — The Infobar shows the cam on screen, its place, its source and its clock.
A PROFILE FOR EVERY DECK — The browser and the whole-deck view come as a profile for Mini, Neo, MK.2, Plus and XL, switched to and back by the plugin.
No account, no tracking; Cams connects only to the cams you look at.
Not sure yet? Cams Lite is free: Explore everything, one cam on a key.
macOS 13 or newer, or Windows 10 or newer, with the Stream Deck app 7.6 or newer. The Infobar action needs a Stream Deck Neo.
