Display Switcher
by Fugutarosan
Overview
Switch between all your monitors and just one, with a single Stream Deck key or dial. Works on Mac and Windows.
Use only your main monitor while gaming or streaming, then go back to dual when you get back to work. No more digging through system settings. A monitor that is switched off is treated by the OS as if it were unplugged, so your windows and taskbar (menu bar on macOS) move to the monitors that remain. Press again and every monitor comes back with the original arrangement and main display.
Features
One-press switching: Cycle (Dual > A only > B only > Dual), Toggle between two setups, or Custom.
Custom setups: line up to 6 combinations such as A+B, B+C or A+B+C and step through them with each press or dial turn.
Display Sleep: put the displays to sleep while the computer and your apps keep running. Move the mouse or press a key on your keyboard to wake them. Works with a single monitor too.
Choose the main monitor: click a monitor's button in the settings panel to make it the main display.
2 to 4 monitors: monitors are detected automatically and named A, B, C, D. With every monitor on, the key shows Dual (2), Triple (3) or All (4).
Stream Deck + dials: rotate, press or touch to switch. The touch strip shows the current state.
Clear icons: monitors that are on are blue, monitors that are off are dashed. The icon follows your OS display arrangement.
Icon layout editor: drag the monitors in the settings panel to match your desk.
Custom names: rename A and B to Main, Sub or anything you like.
Restores your setup: turning everything back on restores the previous arrangement and main display. On Windows, when you turn off the main monitor, the monitor next to it becomes main.
English and Japanese.
Safe to use
Long-press any key to turn every monitor back on. On Windows you can also use Win+P > Extend; on a Mac a restart also works.
No network access and no data collection. Only your monitor layout, settings and a troubleshooting log are stored on your own computer.
No administrator rights or extra permissions needed.
Requirements
macOS 12 or later (Apple silicon / Intel), or Windows 10 (1903 or later) / 11
Stream Deck software 6.9 or later
Please note
macOS has no official way to turn off a monitor, so the plugin uses an internal macOS function. A future macOS update may stop it from working.
On Windows the change is saved like Win+P, so a single-monitor setup stays after a restart.
Macs with Apple M1 can drive only two external monitors (a hardware limit).
Display Sleep on Mac: depending on your macOS Lock Screen settings, the lock screen may appear when the displays wake. Your apps keep running.
Display Sleep and system sleep: if your computer goes into system sleep, apps running in the background stop too. We recommend turning system sleep off or setting a suitable timer.
New: Display Sleep action (key or dial). Press to put the displays to sleep while the computer keeps running; press again to wake them. Works with a single monitor.
New: Custom mode. Build up to 6 steps, each turning on the monitors you pick (e.g. A+B, B+C, A+B+C), reorder them and step through with each press or dial turn.
When every monitor is on, the name is Dual (2), Triple (3) or All (4).
New: Main monitor buttons in the settings. Click a monitor to make it the main display.
Windows: when the main monitor is turned off, the nearest monitor becomes main; turning every monitor back on restores the original main.
