Edge Weather

Overview

Edge Weather turns your XENEON EDGE into a live window on the sky. It is a touch-first weather dashboard that shows not just the forecast, but what it actually looks like outside right now, for any place in the world.

A LIVE SKY BEHIND EVERYTHING

The whole background is an animated sky drawn from real data. The sun and moon sit exactly where they are in the sky, rising on the left and setting on the right, and the moon shows its true phase. The sky moves through clear blue day, golden hour, sunset glow, purple twilight and a starry night. Clouds match the real cloud cover, rain falls at the current intensity and slants with the wind, snow drifts, fog rolls past, and thunderstorms darken the sky with flashes of lightning.

ACCURATE, NOT JUST ESTIMATED

Most weather widgets show a model's guess for "now". Edge Weather uses the nearest airport's live weather report, within 35 km, for the current temperature, feels-like, humidity, wind and pressure, and corrects the next few hours of forecast to match. A small line under the temperature always tells you where the reading came from, and if no station is close enough, it says the value is a forecast estimate. The forecast itself is a Multi-Model Blend: the average of five leading weather models (ECMWF, NOAA GFS, the UK Met Office, Environment Canada's GEM and Open-Meteo's Best Match), which evens out the bias any single model has where you live.

INTERACTIVE FROM EDGE TO EDGE

Drag across the hourly chart to read any hour, and the sky previews that hour, so you can scrub to tonight and watch the stars come out, or to tomorrow afternoon and see the rain arrive. Switch the chart between temperature, rain, wind, humidity, UV, air quality and pressure, over 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days. Tap any detail tile to chart it. Tap a day in the 10-day forecast for its full summary.

EVERYTHING AT A GLANCE

• Current conditions with an animated icon, feels-like, and today's high and low

• Local clock for the place shown: analog and digital time, date, time zone and how far ahead or behind you it is

• Wind compass with gusts, humidity and dew point, UV index, air quality (US or European scale), rain today and when it's next expected, pressure trend and visibility

• Sunrise, sunset and hours of daylight with the sun's position along its arc

• Moon phase and illumination, moonrise and moonset with their dates, and the next full or new moon

• 10-day forecast with colour-coded temperature bars

FIND ANY PLACE

Search any city, region or postcode worldwide. No commas needed: "Clinton NY", "Springfield Illinois" and "Paris, France" all work, including state and country abbreviations. Save up to 12 places and swipe between them. On first run, Edge Weather finds your approximate location automatically. A built-in on-screen keyboard makes searching easy on the touchscreen.

COMPARE THE MODELS

Tap the model badge to see the blend and eight individual weather models side by side for the week ahead, with an agreement rating for each day that shows how certain the forecast really is. Pick any model to use it instead.

MADE FOR EVERY SIZE

From a small tile to the full 2560×720 screen, the layout adapts by showing more or fewer panels, while text stays the same readable size. Even the smallest tile keeps the essentials: conditions, the clock and the hours ahead.

MAKE IT YOURS

Choose your colours, interface scale and corner radius, and pick the Live Sky Scene, a subtle sky tint or a solid background. Turn the sky animation off to save GPU. Set Celsius or Fahrenheit; km/h, mph, m/s or knots; millimetres or inches; 12- or 24-hour time; the clock style; the air-quality scale; and how often to refresh.
