Focus
Overview
Your day runs on more than one clock.
The Pomodoro that keeps you moving in focused blocks. The countdown that launches your macro when it hits zero. The meeting that starts whether or not you are watching, with the join link ready in a single click.
Focus puts all of them where you can see them, on the keys and dials in front of you.
And when it is time to switch, a gentle chime brings you back in, without pulling you out of what you are doing.
Pomodoro. Timer. Clock. Calendar.
What each one does
Pomodoro: the focus cycle, with round dots tracking which block you are in
Timer: a countdown up to twelve hours that does something real when it lands
Stopwatch: counts up, for when you want to know how long something took
Clock and Calendar: the hour in any city, and how long until your next meeting
Every one of them works on a key and on a dial.
Your next meeting, on a key
Paste the iCal address of any calendar, Outlook and Google included, and the key counts down to what is next, then hands you the join link the moment it starts. Work and personal together, if you like. The feed refreshes every five minutes, so a meeting that moves at ten to three moves on the key too.
Six rhythms, or your own
Classic 25/5, Deep Work 50/10, 52/17, a 90-minute Sprint, open-ended Flow, and Adaptive, which sizes the block to the task you name. Round dots track where you are in the cycle, and you can set your own durations entirely.
When the timer hits zero
It can chime, lock the screen, sleep, restart, run one of your macros, or shut the machine down with time to change your mind: twenty seconds on Windows, macOS's own countdown on a Mac. Hibernate too, on Windows. Useful on the render you are not going to sit and watch. On the timers the bar drains rather than fills, so what you are looking at is the time you have left.
Any city, in its own writing
The world clock holds the hour anywhere, with a sun-position bar and the city's own name in its own script. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Thai and Hebrew are bundled.
Four looks, your own two colors, eight chimes or your own WAV or MP3, and a tactile click the instant you press.
Focus is also part of Firedies Complete: all seven Firedies plugins in one, with the same features as each on its own. Until 30 November, Complete is 20% off with code FIREDIES20.
Windows 10 or later, and macOS 13 or later.
Focus 1.1.1
A timer that ends with Show desktop works again on newer versions of macOS. On a Mac it now hides every app, and the next time Focus runs Show desktop they all come back. Windows is unchanged.
