Google Maps Travel Time
by WDX Global
Overview
Google Maps Travel Time shows live drive times - with real traffic factored in - right on your Stream Deck, using Google's own Routes API.
Travel Time (key + Stream Deck+ dial): press/rotate to cycle between multiple saved routes, double-press/push to force-refresh instantly, hold/touch to open the route's directions in Google Maps. Each key or dial shows the current duration plus how it compares to normal traffic (e.g. "+9m vs usual").
Save as many named routes as you like from either Property Inspector - Each route can refresh on its own schedule, and "Always Refresh" keeps a route current in the background even while a different one is shown.
Address autocomplete (Google Places API) speeds up entering origin and destination locations. "Test API Key" checks all three APIs the plugin needs - Routes, Places (New), and Geolocation - before saving, so you'll know immediately if one needs enabling.
Key and Dials open to Google Maps to show your route and other suggested routes.
Requires your own Google Maps Platform API key (a free Google Cloud account, with Routes API, Places API (New), and Geolocation API enabled - Google's usual free monthly credit typically covers normal personal use).
Available in 8 languages.
Travel Time (Keypad key) - shows the currently selected saved route's drive time, updating on your chosen schedule.
Press - cycle to the next saved route.
Double-press - force-refresh the currently shown route right away.
Hold - open that route's directions in Google Maps.
Travel Time (Stream Deck+ dial) - the same route cycling and live duration display, on the dial's touchscreen.
Rotate - cycle through saved routes; each route's label appears instantly as you turn, with the duration catching up a moment later.
Push - refresh the current route right away.
Touch - open the current route's directions in Google Maps.
Multiple saved routes, shared everywhere - add, edit, and delete named routes from either action's Property Inspector
Delay at a glance - every key and dial shows the route's current duration alongside how it compares to typical traffic, e.g. "+9m vs usual", or a plain "Normal traffic" when there's no meaningful delay.
Address autocomplete - origin and destination fields suggest real addresses as you type, biased toward your approximate location.
Test API Key - checks all three APIs the plugin actually needs (Routes, Places (New), and Geolocation) in parallel before saving your key, and tells you plainly which one needs attention if a check fails - e.g. "API key needs Routes API to work" - instead of leaving you to guess after something silently fails later.
