Overview
Herald is a powerful, terminal-focused plugin designed to execute inline shell commands or external script files directly from your Stream Deck, without the need for a local Node.js runtime. Whether you're a developer needing to trigger deployment scripts, or a power user automating daily tasks, Herald offers cross-platform support with features like timeout controls, elevated execution options, and real-time command feedback. Included are robust execution handlers for zsh/bash on macOS, making it the perfect tool for efficient, local command-line automation.
## 0.1.5 — June 2026
### Added
- Windows support: PowerShell 5.1, PowerShell 7 pwsh), and cmd shells selectable per action.
- PowerShell profile loading: $PROFILE is sourced automatically on each execution, matching the dotfile/login-shell behaviour on macOS.
- Cross-platform single binary distribution: one .streamDeckPlugin file installs correctly on macOS (Intel + Apple Silicon) and Windows (x64 and ARM).
- macOS universal binary: herald built via lipo — covers both amd64 and arm64 in a single file.
- *make release-all target**: builds all platform binaries and assembles the final distribution zip in one command, output to release/.
- *-platform flag** on manifestgen: generate manifests scoped to mac, win, or all.
- *Controllers: ["Keypad"]** added to action definition (required for Stream Deck 7).
### Fixed
- Updated manifest OS platform string from "win" to "windows" — the correct identifier for Stream Deck 7, which caused "not compatible with OS system" on all previous builds.
- Minimum Stream Deck software version set to 7.0.
