Keyhaven
Overview
Keyhaven is a little town on floating islands, spread across your Stream Deck. Every key is an island with a building on it, earning gold in a rhythm of its own. You level them up, hire workers, make a few choices that cannot be unmade, and watch the town grow. It works while you do, and it goes on working while the computer is off.
SIX ISLANDS, SIX TRADES — The farm pays every two seconds, the harbour every ten minutes, and the lumber camp, quarry, smithy and market lie in between. Tap an island to gather its gold; hold it to buy levels. Hire a worker and the island gathers by itself from then on.
THEY GROW — Buildings are rebuilt larger as they level up: a shed and a field become a barn and a silo, and then an estate. Pay doubles at levels 10, 25, 50, 100 and beyond.
THE LIGHT IS YOUR OWN TIME OF DAY — The islands are drawn in the light of the hour it is where you are. Morning turns to noon, the golden hour comes, windows light up at dusk, the forge glows, and at night the lighthouse sweeps its beam across the water. Nothing is fetched for this: it reads your clock.
CHARTERS: CHOICES THAT LAST — At levels 25, 50 and 100 each building offers a charter, one of two paths that cannot be undone. Triple this farm, or a fifth more for every building? Twice as fast, or cheaper levels? Two players end up with different towns.
A TOWN WITH A PULSE — The market earns more for every level of the trades that supply it. When the harbour's ship comes in, the whole town earns double for a minute. Now and then a merchant calls and offers a purse of gold or a rush. All of it is worth a glance and none of it is a duty: ignoring it costs nothing.
IT WORKS WHILE YOU ARE AWAY — Switch the computer off and the town carries on, for eight hours at first. When you come back, the deck tells you how long you were gone and what was earned.
NEW TOWNS ON NEW LANDS — When the harbour has grown, you can move on. A new town starts small, but you take crowns with you: each one kept makes everything earn more, and crowns can be spent on perks that last. Each land looks different and has a rule of its own: the snowfield, the oasis, the autumn wood.
GOALS — There is always a next thing worth doing, and a reward for doing it. Fifty-seven in a town.
ONE PRICE, THE WHOLE GAME — No ads, no gems, no timers to buy off, no purchases of any kind. No account and no network: the town lives on your computer.
FITS EVERY DECK — Put Town on every key of a page. Eight keys show the whole town at once. On a smaller deck, such as a Stream Deck Mini, the islands are shown a few at a time and a tap on the treasury turns to the next. On a Stream Deck Neo, the Infobar shows the treasury, what the town earns, and how far the next goal is. On bigger decks the extra keys become shortcuts to goals, workers and the rest.
CALM, IF YOU LIKE — One switch stops the drifting clouds, the swaying wheat and the smoke. Sound can be turned off.
Not sure yet? Keyhaven Lite is free and has the first three islands.
macOS 12 or newer and Windows 10 or newer, with the Stream Deck app 7.6 or newer. Best with eight keys or more; playable from three. The Infobar action needs a Stream Deck Neo.
