WHO IT'S FOR

Built for streamers and developers who create their own overlays - plain HTML, React, Vue, anything that runs in a browser source - and need a manual trigger where no automatic one exists: quiz scoreboards, podcast lower thirds, manual alerts, live votes.

HOW IT WORKS

The plugin talks to the local OBS WebSocket server and emits your event through the obs-browser vendor API. Your overlay receives it as a native DOM event with the payload in event.detail - one addEventListener, no SDK, no polling, and nothing ever leaves your computer.

REQUIREMENTS AND SETUP

OBS Studio 28 or later with the WebSocket server enabled (Tools -> WebSocket Server Settings)

If authentication is enabled in OBS, enter the password once under "OBS Server Settings" in any key's property inspector
