Onshape Hotkeys

Turn your Stream Deck and Stream Deck + into a physical control surface for Onshape, the browser-based CAD platform. Four Stream Deck + dials drive zoom, horizontal orbit, model history, and vertical orbit, while 104 Onshape commands sit on real keys across 13 categories, from sketch entities and constraints to assemblies, drawings, and Feature Studio. A live Status key reads which document and tab you actually have open.

EASY LINK, BUILT IN

The Easy Link module is built in, nothing else to install. Hold the key about a second while Onshape is in front and the deck binds that window to this plugin's profile, which then switches in whenever Onshape takes focus and hands back your previous profile when you leave. Onshape runs in a browser, so Easy Link goes by the page address or the installed app identity: it tells an Onshape tab from your other browser windows instead of reacting to the browser itself. A short press does nothing, so a stray tap never relinks. Easy Link sits on the top left key of both bundled profiles.

STREAM DECK + DIALS

Four dials map to the moves you reach for most:

- Zoom: turn to zoom in and out, press to zoom to fit. Tap the strip to zoom out, reframe, or zoom in.

- Orbit Horizontal: turn to spin the model left and right, press for isometric. Tap left or right, hold for normal to a face.

- History: turn clockwise to redo, counter-clockwise to undo. Press to clear the selection, hold to cancel the active tool.

- Orbit Vertical: turn to tilt the model up and down, press for isometric. Tap top or bottom, hold for the front view.

Each dial paints its own art on the touch strip, with labeled tap zones.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

- 13 category actions covering 104 commands, each key wearing its command's own art.

- Two bundled profiles: a color-coded category hub with one page per category for the 15-key Stream Deck, and a Stream Deck + profile with the four dials and seven starter keys. Both install on the first key press and stay editable.

- A live Onshape Status key, plus optional Follow Onshape (off by default).

- Custom-hotkey capture for rebound shortcuts, with Multi Action support.

HOW THE KEYS WORK

Drop a category action onto any key, pick the command from the dropdown, and the key wears that command's art. Press it and Onshape's real keyboard shortcut lands in the active window. Sketch and constrain, extrude and revolve in a Part Studio, mate and explode in an Assembly, snap to standard views, place dimensions and notes on drawings. Keystrokes go to the active window; the plugin never steals focus.

LIVE STATUS

The Status key takes a live readout from Onshape, not a guess. Two modes, Tab and Document, each putting the other on a badge. The key face tells you when Onshape is not running, keeps working in a PWA window with no address bar, and never reports anything about your document beyond its name and the open tab.

PER-KEY SOUNDS

Every key can play a sound the moment you press it. Thirty sounds ship in the box: clicks, toggles, confirms, and more. Pick one per key in the property inspector, or leave it silent. Pairs with our free Sound Sampler: record any sound on your PC and it shows up in the Key Sound picker automatically.

YOUR SHORTCUTS, NOT OURS

Every key ships with Onshape's stock default shortcut and is remappable. Rebound a shortcut inside Onshape? Type the new combination into the property inspector, or click Capture and press it once. Feature Studio Commit and the Drawing sheet menu ship with no default key: both want Ctrl+S, which the browser claims for Save Page before Onshape sees it. Rebind in Onshape, then capture.

Easy Link comes to Onshape Hotkeys, and there is nothing extra to install.

Hold the Easy Link key while Onshape is in front. The deck links that window to this plugin's profile, and from then on the profile comes up whenever Onshape takes focus, then your previous profile returns when you leave.

Onshape runs in a browser, so Easy Link identifies the window by its web address or by its installed app identity. It tells an Onshape tab or web app from your other browser windows, rather than reacting to the browser itself.

Both bundled profiles carry the Easy Link key in the top left slot: the 15 key category hub and the Stream Deck + page. On a Stream Deck +, the key answers a touch hold as well as a press. That page has no spare slot, so Named view is no longer pre-placed on it. You can still put it on any key, and a profile you already installed is not rewritten.

Links are managed from the property inspector. List everything you have linked, mute a link without deleting it, remove one, or switch the whole module off. Linking is per device type, so a deck with no bundled profile for its type is left alone.

Also in this release: category key labels are re-fitted, so long command names are set larger and read more clearly on the key.
