OpenBalance puts your OpenRouter AI spending on up to three Stream Deck keys, updated automatically. Check your balance, see which models are costing you most, and spot spend spikes before they bite.

This plugin connects to the OpenRouter Management API and gives you a live readout of your balance, your top model spend, and your 30-day usage pattern, right on your deck.

Balance modes — switch between Remaining Credits, Credits Used, or Percentage Remaining

Daily delta indicator — footer shows spend trend versus yesterday, red when rising and green when falling

Top Models tile — displays your top 3 models by spend over the last 30 days and automatically rotates through the top 6

7-day spend sparkline — visual bar chart of daily spend so spikes are obvious at a glance

Two themes — Light and Dark modes, configurable independently per tile with live preview

Hold to refresh — force an immediate sync at any time by holding any tile for 2 seconds

No backend, no subscription — connects directly to OpenRouter over HTTPS, nothing passes through Microdash servers

API key never re-displayed — only the last 4 characters are shown after setup

Requirements

- macOS 10.15 or later, or Windows 10 or later

Stream Deck 7.1 or later

OpenRouter account with a Management API key (not an inference key)

Setup

1. Drag any OpenBalance action onto a Stream Deck key

2. Open the settings panel and click "Open OpenRouter Management Keys"

3. In OpenRouter:

Create a new key

Name it "Stream Deck"

Enable Management API access

Copy the generated key

4. Paste the key into the plugin settings and click "Connect"

Done. Add additional tiles and they will automatically connect using the same configuration.

Gestures

- Tap — opens the relevant OpenRouter page in your browser

Hold (2 seconds) — forces an immediate refresh

Notes

- Management keys are different from inference keys. Standard inference keys will display a "Not a Management Key" error. Create a dedicated Management API key in OpenRouter settings.

Auto-refresh occurs no more frequently than every 15 minutes.

The plugin only reads balance and usage information. It cannot make AI requests or modify your account.
