Positron Deck

Control Positron from your Stream Deck with 14 configurable action groups covering 192 functions. Run R or Python code, inspect data and plots, switch layouts, work with Git, or run a sequence of steps from one button. Positron Deck is free and open source under the MIT license.

Drag a group onto a button, then choose its function in the Property Inspector. The button title and icon update to match your selection. Default shortcuts are included, and each button can use an alternative or a custom shortcut. Six built-in workflows cover tasks such as saving and running a script or preparing a workspace for review. Eight custom slots let you define your own workflows in the IDE extension.

Requires Windows 10 or later, Stream Deck 7.1 or later, and Positron Deck IDE extension 0.2.1. Install the extension in Positron Desktop or your remote Positron session in Workbench. Some functions also work in VS Code; Positron-specific features depend on your installed version and active view.

Keep the intended IDE window or browser tab focused. The plugin sends keyboard shortcuts, with no direct network bridge to the IDE. Buttons do not display live Git, runtime or test status.

Version 0.3.3 groups 192 functions into 14 configurable actions, with function selection in the Property Inspector as requested in the Marketplace review. Buttons now show the selected function name and icon. Existing buttons remain supported through legacy action identifiers.

Fixes include reliable function persistence when switching buttons and correct Base64 SVG image delivery to the device and software preview. Includes SDK 3 packaging for Marketplace distribution.

Requires Positron Deck IDE extension 0.2.1, which fixes Insert Code Cell for Quarto documents while retaining script-cell support for R and Python. Windows 10 or later and Stream Deck 7.1 or later are required.
