Power Apps Deck
Overview
Physical buttons for Power Apps Studio.
Building a canvas app means living in Studio's command bar and left rail - Insert, Add data, New screen, Theme, the Data and Variables panes - and almost none of it has a keyboard shortcut. If you make Power Apps, you click the same buttons hundreds of times a day. Power Apps Deck puts them on your Stream Deck, one press away.
What's included
- 4 ready-to-use preset keys - Save, Preview, Publish (with an accidental-press guard: it asks for a confirming second press), and Undo.
- A configurable "Studio Command" key - drop it on your deck as many times as you like and pick its function from a grouped dropdown; the key's icon redraws to match your choice.
- A configurable "Go To" key - one press opens any maker-portal page (Apps, Create, Solutions, Tables, Connections, Power Automate, Admin Center, the docs, or any custom URL).
- Two ready-made profiles - a 15-key "Power Apps" layout and a 32-key "Power Apps XL" layout, so you're productive the moment you install.
The ~50 commands you can put on a key
- File: Save, Save As, Publish, Download .msapp
- Command bar: Back, Insert, Add data, New screen, Theme, Background color, Background image, Settings, Share, App checker, Comments, Properties
- Left rail (panes): Tree view, Data, Variables, Media, Power Automate, Search
- Preview: Preview (F5), Exit Preview
- Editing: Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All
- Zoom: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Fit Canvas
- Arrange: Group/Ungroup, Bring Forward, Send Backward, Bring to Front, Send to Back, Rename
- Text format: Bold, Italic, Underline
- Go To: Power Apps home, Create, My Apps, Solutions, Tables, Connections, Power Automate, Admin Center, Power Apps docs, Custom URL
How it works
Power Apps Deck finds the browser window showing Power Apps Studio (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera, or Vivaldi), brings it to the front, verifies the focus took - and only then acts. Where Microsoft documents a keyboard shortcut, the key sends it. The command bar and left rail have no shortcuts, so those keys click the actual on-screen button through Windows UI Automation - the same accessibility technology screen readers use. Because it targets the button itself rather than a screen position, it works at any resolution or display scaling.
Studio in another language? Every click key's button name - and every shortcut - is overridable per key in its settings.
Smart, context-aware keys
Studio keys dim when no browser window is showing Power Apps, so you can see at a glance what's usable. "Go To" keys are always live — and they open their page in the browser that's already running Studio, so links land in the account you're actually signed in with (not whatever your system default browser is).
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (Windows only)
- Stream Deck software 7.1 or later
- Power Apps Studio open in a browser - best in its own window (the plugin finds Studio through the window title, which browsers take from the active tab)
Privacy
Power Apps Deck runs entirely on your own machine. There's no sign-in, it needs no account, and it makes no network calls - "Go To" keys simply open maker-portal pages in your own browser.
