Progress Circles
by penguindev
Overview
Progress Circles brings clean, customizable Home Assistant progress widgets to your Stream Deck. Display live values as circular indicators, style them with colors, gradients, icons, and different center display modes, and turn sensors, power data, and status values into a compact visual dashboard at a glance.
Whether you want to monitor sensor values, battery levels, appliance status, charging progress, or energy data, Progress Circles makes it easy to build a visual smart home dashboard directly on your keys — and the Device Battery action works without Home Assistant at all.
The plugin currently includes these six actions:
Progress Circle\
Display a standard circular progress indicator based on a Home Assistant entity.
Custom Circle\
Use your own custom maximum value and choose whether the center shows a percentage, the actual value, an icon, or no center content at all.
Progress Bar\
Show the same Home Assistant value as a linear bar instead of a circle.
Full Button Progress\
Fill the entire key background from any direction to visualize progress.
Device Battery\
Show the battery level of a connected Bluetooth device — AirPods, mice, keyboards, headsets — as a circle, bar, or full-button fill. No Home Assistant needed. On macOS all connected devices that report a level are listed; on Windows this covers Bluetooth LE devices such as mice, keyboards and controllers.
Solar Energy Circle\
Show solar production and power consumption together in one combined circle for a compact live energy view.
Each key can be customized to match your setup and style. Adjust ring colors, optional background gradients, ring thickness, size, and center display options. You can also place an icon in the middle of the circle for a cleaner dashboard-style look.
Color by Level turns any action into an at-a-glance status light: pick your own good, warning and critical colors with the thresholds between them, and choose which end of the scale counts as critical — low for a battery running empty, high for a load climbing towards a limit.
If a key ever shows an error instead of a value, the action settings include a Diagnostics panel with a "Test connection" button that names the exact cause — host unreachable, invalid token, unknown entity — and what to do about it.
Quick Setup
1. Add one of the Progress Circles actions to your Stream Deck key.
2. Enter your Home Assistant URL and a Long-Lived Access Token.
3. Select the entity or entities you want to display.
4. Customize the look with colors, gradients, icons, ring thickness, and display mode.
5. Use the key as a live visual indicator for your smart home data.
How To Get a Home Assistant Token
1. Open Home Assistant.
2. Click your user profile in the lower-left corner.
3. Go to the "Security" tab.
4. Scroll down to Long-Lived Access Tokens.
5. Create a new token and copy it into the plugin's Access Token field.
How To Find an Entity ID
1. In Home Assistant, go to Settings -> Devices & Services -> Entities.
2. Search for the sensor or device you want to use.
3. Copy the Entity ID, for example sensor.battery_level or sensor.solar_power.
4. Paste it into the matching field in the plugin.
Progress Circles is ideal for smart home dashboards, solar monitoring, appliance states, battery tracking, and everyday utility or sensor readouts.
