PureRef Hotkeys

Press a dial and PureRef's command palette opens: turn to browse, hold to run the highlighted command. Eight Stream Deck + dials drive canvas zoom, undo/redo, note font size, text color, note background color, window opacity, image browsing and the command palette. 169 PureRef commands sit on real keys across 14 categories, and bundled profiles cover all six Stream Deck models.

EASY LINK, BUILT IN

The Easy Link module is built in, nothing else to install. Hold the key about a second while PureRef is in front and the deck binds it to this plugin's profile. The profile switches in whenever PureRef takes focus: leave it and your previous profile returns. Easy Link sits on the top-left key of all six bundled profiles.

EIGHT STREAM DECK + DIALS

- Command Palette: press to open, turn to move through the list, hold the dial down to run the highlighted command, hold the touch screen to close it.

- Text Color: turn to browse your saved colors on the touch screen, press to apply the one selected, or tap a color on the strip. The colors are PureRef's own recent colors, applied through its own picker while you edit a note.

- Note Background Color: the same saved-color wheel for the note's background.

- Browse Images: turn to jump focus to the next or previous image in your scene, press to zoom in on the current one, tap to fit the whole canvas.

- Canvas Zoom: turns like the scroll wheel, one smooth zoom at your mouse pointer. Press to reset to 100 percent, long press the touch screen to fit the whole canvas.

- Undo / Redo: step through your edit history one click at a time while a pixel-art crab walks the touch screen with every turn.

- Note Font Size: grow or shrink the selected note text, one font step per click. Press for the text color picker.

- Window Opacity: fade PureRef over your work, about 10 percent per step.

KEYS THAT SHOW PUREREF'S STATE

The Save key shows a dot while your scene has unsaved changes. The Draw key shows whether draw mode is on. The Hierarchy key shows whether the panel is open. A state the plugin cannot verify is never shown.

HOW THE KEYS WORK

Drop a category action onto any key and pick the command by its key face. The key wears that command's own illustration. Press it and the shortcut lands in PureRef exactly like a physical keyboard, in a few milliseconds rather than a few hundred. Drag modifiers are true hold keys: down while you hold and drag, released when you lift.

MODE-SAFE DRAW KEYS

PureRef only listens to drawing shortcuts in draw mode, so tool, pen style, pen color and pen width keys enter draw mode automatically before firing, and work from any state.

YOUR SHORTCUTS, NOT OURS

Every key ships with PureRef's stock shortcut, and every key is remappable. Capture any combination in the Custom Hotkey field and the key sends exactly that instead. Command keys work in Multi Actions too.

PER-KEY SOUNDS

Every key can play a sound on press, 33 bundled; pick one per key or leave it silent. Record your own with our free Sound Sampler plugin and it appears in the picker automatically.

SIX BUNDLED PROFILES

- Stream Deck: a color-coded category hub plus one page per category, 15 pages in all.

- Stream Deck +: two pages carrying all eight dials, four per page, with seven starter keys.

- Stream Deck + XL: the full hub-and-category layout with six dials on every page and a 36-key Home page with the value pad.

- Stream Deck XL: the same hub-and-category layout on 32 keys, value pad included.

- Stream Deck Mini: one page, Easy Link plus five starter keys.

- Stream Deck Neo: the Stream Deck + starter keys, all eight slots live.

The dials need a deck with dials; the other profiles are keys only. The hub profiles install on the first press of an Open Category key.

Windows only. Requires the Stream Deck desktop app 6.9 or newer and PureRef, built and tested against PureRef 2.1.3 on Windows 10 and 11. Keystrokes go to the focused window, so keep PureRef in front when you press a command key.

PureRef Hotkeys 3.0.1.0. Still 169 commands in 14 categories, eight Stream Deck + dials and six bundled profiles. Built and tested against PureRef 2.1.3 on Windows 10 and 11.

Pick by face: a command key's settings now show the category's commands as a grid of their key art.

Fixed: a custom hotkey captured with an arrow key never fired. Capture now stores arrows in a form the plugin can send; capture any arrow hotkey set before this update again.

Easy Link: the action is now named "Easy Link: PureRef". The linked key shows the app's icon above its name when one can be read, and its settings show each link as the face it wears on the deck. A failed link plays a shorter chime. Easy Link is now a key action only; if you put it on a dial, move it to a key. The bundled profiles always had it on a key.

Easy Link on several decks: the Stream Deck app installs one new profile at a time, so linking several decks at once could leave all but one on its old profile. Each extra deck now comes up about 12 seconds after the one before, once per deck.
