TalkDeck
Overview
Every key is a voice. TalkDeck turns your Stream Deck into a communication board for people who can't speak, or who struggle to: big picture keys that say a phrase out loud the moment they are pressed. It uses the voices already built into Windows, so there is no account, no subscription and no internet needed.
Ready to use
59 ready-made phrases in English and French: yes and no, needs, feelings, social, help, activities, people and places
Pick a phrase from the list and the key is set: label, spoken sentence, pictogram and color
Colors follow the Fitzgerald key used on AAC boards
Build a sentence
Set phrase keys to "add the word": each press adds it to the Sentence key
Press the Sentence key to speak it, hold it to clear
Tools: delete the last word, clear, repeat the last phrase, stop the voice, or ring a soft chime to get attention first
Made for one person
Your own words: change the label and what is said
165 pictograms, or a photo of a real person or object
Every Windows voice installed on the PC, with speed and volume, and a different voice per key if needed
Stream Deck +: turn the dial to browse phrases, press to speak, tap the strip to change category
Compatibility
Windows 10/11 with at least one Windows voice installed (included with Windows; more voices in Settings > Time & language > Speech). Stream Deck 6.9 or later. Keys work on every Stream Deck; the dial action needs a Stream Deck +. English and French.
TalkDeck is a communication aid, not a medical device. It does not replace the advice of a speech therapist.
Give a voice to every key: add TalkDeck to your Stream Deck.
