Temp & Cache Cleaner

Overview

Free up disk space on Windows from your Stream Deck: delete temp files and clear the browser cache of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave with one key. The key shows how much space you can free right now in junk files: your Temp folder, browser caches, thumbnail cache, crash dumps and DirectX and GPU shader caches. Hold it for 1 second to clean, and it shows the space you got back. Made for gamers, streamers and anyone whose C: drive keeps filling up.

Clean everything at once, or give the Temp folder or one browser its own key. You choose how old a file must be before it goes, older than 24 hours by default. In a browser, only its cache is cleaned: passwords, history, cookies and bookmarks stay.

Features

Junk Size: the space you can free and the number of files, with a color bar per category. Press it to page through the categories

Clean All: hold 1 second to clean every category you tick. A short press only counts again

Category: one category per key: Temp folder, Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Brave cache, thumbnail cache, crash dumps and error reports, or shader cache

Age: files older than 24 hours (the default), older than 7 days, or any age

After a clean, the key shows the space freed and what was left: an open browser ("close Chrome first") or files Windows reports as in use

Counts again about every minute while the key is on screen, and after every press

Hold-to-clean can be switched off, so a key only shows the size

Five looks: Classic, Neon, Ring, Bars, Solid

FAQ

How do I delete temp files from my Stream Deck? Set a Category key to Temp and hold it for 1 second. It deletes the files in your Temp folder older than 24 hours and shows the space you got back. Clean All does the same for every category you tick.

Can I clear the Chrome or Edge cache with a Stream Deck key? Yes. Set a Category key to Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Brave, close the browser and hold the key for 1 second. While the browser is open, its cache is kept and the key says so.

Will it delete my passwords, history or cookies? No. Only the browser's cache folders are cleaned.

Is it safe to delete temp files and caches? These folders hold copies that Windows, your browser and your games make again when needed. By default only files older than 24 hours go, files Windows reports as in use stay, and links to other folders are never followed.

Does a short press delete anything? No. Only a 1 second hold cleans.

Does it need administrator rights or an internet connection? Neither. It runs as your Windows user, entirely on your PC.

Privacy

Runs on your PC. No account, no telemetry, nothing is sent online.

Requirements

Windows 10 or later, Stream Deck app 6.9 or later

Limitations

Cleaned files are deleted for good and cannot be restored

Only your own user account's junk folders. Folders that need administrator rights (Windows Update, Prefetch, Windows temp) are not cleaned

Links and shortcuts to other folders are never followed

A file a program holds open stays until that program closes

A browser running in the background (Edge Startup boost, Chrome background apps) keeps its cache until fully closed. When the running programs cannot be checked, browser caches are left as they are and the key says "browser not checked"

After the shader cache is cleaned, the first start of a game can take a little longer

Compatibility: tested on Windows 11

First release with three actions. Junk Size shows how much temp files, browser caches, thumbnails, crash dumps and shader caches take. Clean All and Category clean them on a 1 second hold, only files older than 24 hours by default; running browsers and files Windows reports as in use are kept. Five looks. English and Japanese.
