Monitoring

UniFi Monitor

Overview

Your UniFi network on your XENEON EDGE: live internet speed, the health of every UniFi device, and up to nine UniFi Protect cameras, side by side.

The Internet section shows your download and upload as they happen, with a graph of the last 5 minutes to an hour, this month's data use, your ISP and plan speed, latency, packet loss and uptime. Run a speed test right from the widget: tap Run Test twice and your gateway tests your connection, one phase at a time.

Network Health counts the devices online and keeps an eye on your gateway, switches, Wi-Fi and security, with the changes it notices under Recent Events. Tap a row for the details: gateway load and ports, every switch port, Wi-Fi radios with channel use and client signal, and the flows your firewall blocked. Tap the month's totals for data by app, Clients for your ten busiest, and the device count for every UniFi device.

Cameras shows snapshots from up to nine UniFi Protect cameras, a doorbell's package camera included, refreshed every 10 seconds to 5 minutes, or only when you tap. Tap a camera to open it. When your UniFi doorbell rings, the camera view expands for a minute. No cameras? Turn Show Cameras off and Network Health takes the space, with more detail for every row.

Pick what each slot shows: Medium shows one section, Large two, Extra Large all three.

You need a UniFi console (a Cloud Gateway, Dream Machine or other UniFi OS console) with remote access turned on. Sign in at unifi.ui.com as the console's owner, create an API key, and paste it into the widget's settings. The key stays on your PC and is only sent to UniFi (api.ui.com). The widget only reads your network, except when you start a speed test.

Camera pictures are snapshots, not live video, and each one is about 300 KB through the UniFi cloud: nine cameras every minute use about 160 MB an hour.

Part of a matching set: Hardware Monitor, Hardware Monitor Dials, Weather and Radar, Calendar, Clock, Calculator, Battery, Now Playing, FPS, Fan Monitor, Power Cost, GIF Frame, Game Launcher, RSS Reader, Audio Control, Stocks, Countdown Timer and Game Deals use the same themes, palettes and edges, so put UniFi Monitor next to any other widget to make one seamless dashboard.
