USB Device Watch for Windows

Watch a USB microphone, webcam, capture card or audio interface on a Stream Deck key. It is green while connected, red when the device disconnects, and amber with a count of USB dropouts once it returns. A second key shows the last USB device plugged in or removed, so a disconnect mid-stream is easy to spot.

Pick any connected device from a list: a USB mic, camera, controller or wireless receiver. Heard the Windows USB disconnect sound? Last USB Change names the device.

Features

Green = connected. Red = disconnected, with the time since. Amber = back, with the drop count and time. Press to clear

Red NOT WORKING when the device is still connected but Windows shows a problem for it (for example Code 43, or disabled), with the code

Dropouts are counted from Windows plug and unplug events and a check every 2 s

Sound on a drop (off by default): the Windows warning sound or a beep

Last USB Change: the last device plugged in or removed. Press for older ones (up to 10), hold for the latest

A device with a serial number is found on any USB port

Solid, dark or light look per key, and your own label

Read-only. No admin rights needed

English and Japanese

Limitations

It watches the USB link, not the sound: a connected mic that goes silent stays green

Bluetooth is not covered (USB receivers are)

The name is what the device reports; a label renames the key

Counts and history reset on a Stream Deck or plugin restart

Keys only, not dials or Multi Actions

Needs Windows PowerShell (part of Windows; blocked on some managed PCs)

Windows 10+, Stream Deck 6.9+. Tested on Windows 11
