Website Monitor
by ALLEZfaces
Overview
Website Monitor keeps your websites, APIs and services on your Stream Deck. Every key checks one thing on its own schedule and turns green, amber or red with the latest result. Press a key to open the page, hold it to check again right now.
Actions
- Online: ONLINE or OFFLINE (does the server answer at all), with a strip of the last checks.
- API Check: OK or FAIL (does the answer say what it should). Text that must appear in the page, or conditions on the JSON fields of an API or health endpoint: a field equals a value or one of several values, does not equal one, or a number is above or below a limit; nested fields and list items work too. Several conditions at once, all or any of them.
- API Value: shows the value of one JSON field, for example the user count or a status word. Numbers get a graph and your own amber and red thresholds (higher or lower is worse).
- Response Time: how fast it answers, coloured by speed, with a graph. Every check uses a fresh connection, so DNS and TLS count like for a first-time visitor.
- Wide Response Graph: the response-time graph stretched across neighbouring keys of a row for a longer history.
- Certificate: days left on the TLS certificate, issuer and expiry date, and why it is not trusted when it isn't (self-signed, expired, wrong host). Amber when fewer days are left than you set.
- Port: is a TCP port open (game servers, SSH, databases, mail), with the connect time.
Stream Deck + and + XL: every action also works on the dials, each on its own part of the touch strip. Push a dial to open the page (Port: check), touch it to check now, rotate a graph (Response Time, API Value) for its time span; a Wide Response Graph runs across neighbouring dials as one seamless picture.
Details
- Any address works: a path like example.com/health, a custom port, or a server on your local network.
- Protected endpoints: add named API keys once (sent as a bearer token or in any header you name) and pick one per key. Keys only store the name, so the secret is not part of an exported profile. Extra request headers per key.
- Accepted status codes per key (2xx and 3xx by default), and self-signed certificates can be accepted per key for home servers.
- Check every 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes or 1 hour; keys with the same settings share one check.
- Any key's Title in the Stream Deck app becomes the name shown on it.
Alerts
When a check turns red (offline, FAIL, port closed, certificate not trusted, or a response time or API value past its red threshold) its keys blink and the computer that runs Stream Deck shows a notification (macOS Notification Center, a Windows notification), and another one when it is back. It has to stay red for about 10 seconds and one check notifies at most every 5 minutes. Switch blinking and notifications off for every key, or mute a single key.
Runs locally on your computer: no account, no cloud service, no subscription.
Version 1.1
- Wide Response Graph grows in height too: put it on keys below as well and the graph spans several rows, with a finer ms axis and labels. Any shape works (a row, a block, a T or an L); the key with the URL shows the name and the value.
