Welcome to the Elgato Marketplace Q&A! This is the start of something big, and we know you have some burning questions, all of which we cover in this Q&A. From account logins, audio effects, submitting feedback, and beyond, we've compiled a list of answers to keep you in the loop.
Why is there a need for an account login in the latest Wave Link update?
The account login feature is introduced to facilitate the use of our new Marketplace, allowing users to purchase, download, and manage digital products seamlessly.
Will Wave Link and other Elgato applications still function without login?
Yes, the software will still function without logging in. The basic functionalities of Elgato apps will remain accessible.
What VST audio effects will be available in the Marketplace?
At first, you'll find the same VSTs which have been available, and more will be added over time as makers submit theirs to Marketplace.
How does purchasing and installing VST audio effects through the Marketplace work?
After logging into the Marketplace, you can browse and purchase VST audio effects. They can be downloaded and installed directly within the Wave Link software.
Can I use my current VST audio effects with Wave Link?
You can continue using your current VST audio effects with Wave Link.
What information will I need to provide to create an account?
To create an account, you will need to provide your email address and create a password. Alternatively, you can use your Twitch, Google, Facebook, or Discord account to sign in quickly.
Will there be any changes to the system requirements with the Marketplace update?
The system requirements for Elgato applications will remain essentially the same. Any significant changes will be highlighted in the update notes.
Can I share or transfer my purchased VST audio effects with other users or to my other devices?
Currently, the VST audio effects purchased from the Marketplace are tied to the account from which they were purchased and cannot be shared or transferred between users or devices.
How can I contact customer support for Maker products?
You can contact the Elgato support team for any account or purchase-related issues. Elgato will not be providing support for Maker products. The Maker's support email will be provided on the Maker product pages and included in the order details.
