Ableton Icons

Overview

Ableton Icons: Capture all your third-party plugins at once, each with its own interface image and clean label, made for our Ableton plugin.

This tool is for producers who load plugins from Stream Deck and want to recognize them at a glance, without making icons by hand. Works with our Ableton Plugin: https://marketplace.elgato.com/product/ableton-plugin-loader-9c7d4f08-8219-416e-8aca-42cd72a153e4

What's inside?

Capture: One press, all your plugins: Press the Ableton Icons key and it loads every plugin in Live that has no key yet, captures its window and makes the key. Press again to stop.

Plugin List: Your whole library in one window: Search and filter, pick plugins yourself, capture them again, and switch VST3, VST2 and AU on or off.

Edit: Make every key yours: Change the label and its size with a live preview, set a plugin up by hand before it's captured, or use your own image.

Ready to play: No files to copy: Click Update and your keys appear in the Device action of our Ableton Plugin. No restart needed.

Status dot: See what's going on: Red when something needs your attention, yellow when there are keys to update, pulsing blue while capturing.

Manual icons: Find the keys that hide your new icons: A picture you uploaded yourself always stays on its key. Ableton Icons lists those keys with a before/after preview and a small map of where they are, so you can reset them or keep your own picture (with Ableton Plugin 2.2 or later).

Setup: Checked off step by step: A short checklist on first use that finishes by itself once everything is green.

Private by design Everything happens on your Mac: nothing is uploaded. Ableton Icons asks you to allow Screen Recording for Stream Deck, only to take a picture of the plugin windows it opens itself while it captures.

Setup

Make sure you installed Ableton Plugin and selected HJF Plugins as Control Surface in Live: Settings -> Link, Tempo & MIDI. Then install this plugin.

In Live: Settings -> Plug-Ins -> Auto-Open Plug-In Windows on

In Stream Deck: drag Ableton Icons -> Capture onto a key, allow Screen Recording and press the key

Built for real use Your plugin library keeps growing and your keys keep up: capture new plugins in seconds and keep every page of your Stream Deck readable.
