Live Cockpit for SimConnect

Turn your Stream Deck into a live cockpit for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and 2020 (MSFS): keys for the landing gear, flaps, autopilot, lights and transponder show your aircraft's real state and switch it with one press. They connect through SimConnect, built into the sim, so the plugin is all you install.

See at a glance that the gear is down, the parking brake is set and the autopilot has captured the approach. Live keys add airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, fuel with the time it lasts, heading and the next GPS waypoint. A custom key sends any key event and shows any SimVar or local variable (L:var).

Start the sim and Stream Deck in any order: the keys find the sim by themselves and reconnect each time you restart it. Presses reach the sim while it is in the background, and your keyboard and joystick bindings stay as they are.

Features

Landing Gear: a lamp per leg (green down, red moving, dark up) and the lever. Press to raise or lower

Flaps: the position with a bar and a lever mark, MOVING while they travel. Press for a notch down or up

Autopilot: AP, HDG, ALT, NAV, APR and V/S, green when the mode holds and white when armed, with the selected heading, altitude or climb rate. Press for that mode

Lights: landing, taxi, strobe, beacon or nav, ON or OFF. Press to switch

Transponder: the squawk code and the mode; emergency codes turn red. Press for standby / ALT, or IDENT

Spoilers: ARMED, retracted or extended. Parking Brake: SET or OFF. Press to toggle

Airspeed and ground speed; altitude and vertical speed; heading with the heading bug

Fuel on board and the time it lasts at the current flow; orange, then red, at the warning time you choose

Next Waypoint: the GPS destination, its distance and time to go

Custom Key: type your own key event (with an optional value) and show any SimVar or L:var as ON / OFF or a number. Made for aircraft with their own variables

Keys show what the sim reports, so they stay right when you flip a switch with the mouse, a joystick or another panel

Every press gets an answer: a white flash when the sim takes it, or a red frame with the reason

A mistyped SimVar shows "?" on its own key; every other key keeps working

Knots, km/h or mph; feet or meters; pounds or kilograms. English and Japanese

Setup

Drag the keys onto your Stream Deck and fly: the Community folder and the sim's files stay untouched

Pick the light, autopilot mode or flap direction in a key's settings; add the key again for another

The keys show NO SIM while the sim is closed and NOT FLYING in the menus, then live values

Privacy

Runs on your computer and talks only to the sim. Nothing is sent over the internet.

Requirements

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 or 2020 on a Windows PC

Stream Deck app 6.9 or later on Windows 10 or later, on the same computer as the sim

Limitations

Windows only; the sim on an Xbox console is not supported

The built-in keys work with aircraft that use the standard SimVars and key events. Some aircraft use their own systems for some instruments or switches; for those, enter the aircraft's own variables and events in the Custom Key

An L:var the aircraft does not have reads 0, not "?": check the exact name

Controls that need an add-on inside the sim (WASM, such as H: events) are not supported

The light keys send the standard toggle events, with no light circuit selected

Includes node-simconnect 4.2.1 (LGPL-3.0-or-later) as separate, unmodified files in bin/lib, with its source code. To use your own version, see "Using your own version of the library" in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt. SimConnect.dll is not included.
