Overview
Your plugin workflow. On your Stream Deck.
MakerDeck turns your Stream Deck into a command center for Stream Deck plugin development. Set up your tools, switch between projects, run development commands and prepare your plugin for distribution—all from your keys.
SET UP YOUR DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT Dev Setup automatically installs Node.js, npm and the official Elgato CLI when needed, then checks that your environment is ready. Dedicated Node.js and Elgato CLI actions let you check, install or update these tools individually.
ORGANIZE YOUR PROJECTS Choose your workspace folder, or use the default folder created by MakerDeck. Discover the plugin projects inside it and use My Plugins to cycle through them. The key displays your active project, and project actions follow your selection.
CREATE AND DEVELOP • New Plugin — launch the official Elgato plugin creation wizard. • Open VS Code — open your active project in Visual Studio Code. • Build — compile your project and follow the output in Windows Terminal. • Watch — start or stop watch mode to rebuild as your source files change. • Restart — restart your active plugin in Stream Deck. • Link / Unlink — connect your development plugin to Stream Deck or unlink it.
CHECK AND PACKAGE • Plugin Check — inspect your project structure and development environment before official validation. • Debug — run diagnostics and inspect plugin logs. • Validate — validate your plugin using the official Elgato CLI. • Package — create a distributable .streamDeckPlugin file.
Keys display action status, tool versions or the active project, depending on the action, so you can see what is happening while you work.
REQUIREMENTS Windows only. Requires Stream Deck 7.1 or later. Terminal workflows use Windows Terminal. The Open VS Code action requires Visual Studio Code. An internet connection is required to download development tools.
MakerDeck works with your project's build and watch scripts and uses the official Elgato CLI for plugin creation, validation and packaging.
