Ping
Overview
You felt the lag. Now you can see it.
Ping keeps live latency to your server on your Stream Deck, so the number is there before you need to go looking for it.
What each key shows
Ping: live latency to the server you actually care about, tinted by health
Download: your real download traffic, live
Upload: the same going out, which is the number that matters the moment you stream
Speed Test: ping, download and upload in one, powered by Cloudflare
On a dial
Turn to step through your servers, press and hold to jump straight back to your default
On Speed Test, turn to cycle the results and press to run it again
Most people watch the wrong thing
Pinging a game's website tells you about their web host, not the box you are playing on. Detect my server looks at what your machine is genuinely connected to and offers you the real candidates. Add a server once and every Ping control on your deck shares the list.
Make it yours
Set your own thresholds, because a competitive shooter and a video call disagree about what counts as fine. Four looks: a color bar, black and white, clean, or a history ribbon of your recent pings with the oldest on the left. Server icons arrive on their own, or give one your own emoji or image. And a chime when the connection drops, so you find out from your deck instead of from your teammates.
The key changes color as your connection does, and when a server stops answering it says so plainly instead of showing you a comfortable old number.
Ping is also part of Firedies Complete: all seven Firedies plugins in one, with the same features as each on its own. Until 30 November, Complete is 20% off with code FIREDIES20.
Windows 10 or later, and macOS 13 or later.
Ping now runs on macOS as well as Windows.
New in 1.1.0
macOS 13 or later, alongside Windows 10 or later
Download and Upload on a Mac read your network adapters' own traffic counters, live
Detect my server on a Mac reads the connections your apps have open, with no administrator prompt
On a Mac, latency uses the same ICMP echo as on Windows, and falls back to timing a connection when a server does not answer echoes. The Speed Test's ping figure works on both.
Existing keys and server lists need no changes.
