awork Timer
Overview
At merakee Interactive, we use awork every day to organize our agency projects — and we genuinely enjoy working with it. We originally built awork Timer for our own daily workflow and are now making it available to the wider awork and Stream Deck communities. It is an independent companion plugin created by a happy awork customer to make an already great project management experience even more conven
Control your awork time tracking directly from Stream Deck. Start a timer for a selected customer, project, task, and type of work; stop it with one press; and keep the current ticket, activity, and elapsed time visible on a dedicated key. It is built for people and teams who use awork and want accurate time tracking without switching windows.
Included actions:
Timer Status shows the active ticket, activity, and live elapsed time.
Start Timer starts a configured project or task with one press.
Stop Timer ends the active or paused timer immediately.
Birthdays shows the next team birthday within a configurable look-ahead period.
Choose API key or OAuth 2.1 authentication in the Property Inspector. Start Timer can filter projects by customer, supports optional tasks and notes, and lets you explicitly mark an entry as not billable. When the option is not selected, the entry is saved as billable. Status refreshes from awork at a configurable interval while the elapsed time updates every second.
OAuth setup:
In your awork workspace, open Settings > Integrations > API Clients and select + API Client. Admin rights or permission to manage workspace configuration are required.
Enter a name, choose a unique Client ID, and create the application as a Public Client. Do not enable Confidential Client; this plugin uses Authorization Code with PKCE and does not require a Client Secret.
Add this Redirect URI exactly as written and save the application: https://oauth2-redirect.elgato.com/streamdeck/plugins/message/com.merakee.awork-timer/oauth/callback
In Stream Deck, select an awork Timer key. In its Property Inspector, choose OAuth 2.1, paste the Client ID from awork, and select Connect with awork. Sign in, choose the workspace, and approve access. Authentication is shared by all awork Timer actions.
Requirements: macOS 13 or later or Windows 10 or later, Stream Deck 7.1 or later, internet access, an awork account, and either an awork API key plus user ID or a configured public OAuth client. Birthday visibility requires permission to read awork user master data. This independent plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by awork GmbH.
Added Tracked Time to display personal time totals for today, the current week, or the current month.
Added Billability Summary to compare billable and non-billable time, including the billable percentage.
Added Last Used Timer to quickly restart the most recently completed timer with its previous project, task, type of work, note, timezone, and billability setting.
Running timers are now included in time summaries.
Improved action names, tooltips, setup instructions, and error handling.
