NBA Scores

Overview

NBA Scores is a real-time basketball tracking widget designed for iCUE LCD devices. Follow live, upcoming, and completed NBA games right from your display with live score updates, game status tracking, and top individual scorer stats.

iCUE Mode Required: These iCUE widgets are only available when the keyboard is running in iCUE mode with iCUE open. Widgets can not be saved to or used in Device Memory Mode (hardware mode).

iCUE Version Requirement for Widget Availability: iCUE version 5.47 or later is required to use the widgets. We recommend always updating to the latest version of iCUE for the best experience.

Wired Connection Required: To use iCUE widgets, connect the keyboard to your PC with a USB cable and use the keyboard in wired mode.

Enable Screen Widgets for Dial Control for Vanguard 96 series: In iCUE, go to the Rotary Dial tab, enable Screen Widget, and select it as the dial function. Once enabled, you can use the rotary dial to switch between widgets and interact with supported widget functions.

Switching Between Widgets

You can switch between widgets using the following controls:

Vanguard 96 / Vanguard 96 Wireless / Vanguard PRO 96: Press FN + Left/Right Arrow, or turn the dial.

Vanguard AIR 99 WL: Press FN + Left/Right Arrow.

How It Works

The widget polls ESPN's public scoreboard API every 30 seconds to fetch up-to-date game data across the league. A 5-segment progress bar on top that tracks pagination as the display automatically cycles through all scheduled games for the day every 6 seconds.

Each matchup displays side-by-side cards with team logos, abbreviations, current scores, and game status indicators (such as live period details, scheduled tip-off times, or final markers). During active or completed games, the leading team's score is highlighted in white, and the bottom section of each card dynamically reveals the team's top point scorer alongside their current point total. If a remote team logo fails to load, an embedded SVG basketball emblem automatically takes its place as a fallback.

Getting Started

The widget is fully automatic and requires no API keys or configuration:

Load the widget in iCUE, and it will immediately retrieve today's NBA slate.

If no games are scheduled for the day or connection issues occur, the status indicator cleanly reports "NO GAMES" or "OFFLINE".

Attribution

NBA game scores, scheduling details, and player stats are retrieved using ESPN's public Scoreboard API.
