Steam Status

Steam Status brings your Steam profile and games directly to your Stream Deck.

Monitor your current presence, see which games you or your friends are playing, and switch your own status (Online, Away, Invisible, Offline) with a single tap or a quick turn of a dial.

Features:

Live Game Display: Automatically fetches and displays the official header image of the game you are currently playing.

Dynamic Groups: Assign a list of friends to a shared Group ID across multiple buttons — Steam Status automatically sorts them by priority (in-game > online > away > offline), spreads them across your available buttons, and shows an overflow counter for friends that don't fit.

Status Control: Change your Steam status directly via button presses or by rotating a Stream Deck + dial.

- Security update: switch to Node.js 24: The plugin now runs on the Node.js 24 runtime shipped with Stream Deck (24.22.1) instead of Node.js 20. Node.js 20 is end-of-life and no longer receives security fixes - in particular not the fix for the Brotli vulnerability CVE-2026-111497 ("Node2Shell") from the Node.js security release of 2026-10-21, which CISA has since listed as actively exploited. The plugin queries the Steam API through the built-in fetch() - exactly the path where crafted Brotli-compressed responses could be processed. With Node.js 24.22.1 this and the other nine CVEs of that release (TLS hostname checks, DNS, HTTP keep-alive, among others) are closed.

- New minimum version: Stream Deck 7.1: Node.js 24 is supported by Stream Deck 7.1 and later, so that is the new minimum version. From Stream Deck 7.1 the app also keeps the Node.js runtime up to date automatically. Users still on Stream Deck 6.9 or 7.0 stay on 2.3.1.0.
