Overview

Stocks is a real-time market tracking widget for iCUE LCD screens and keyboard displays. It monitors up to three stock tickers simultaneously, presenting live equity prices and color-coded performance indicators powered by the Finnhub API.

iCUE Mode Required: These iCUE widgets are only available when the keyboard is running in iCUE mode with iCUE open. Widgets can not be saved to or used in Device Memory Mode (hardware mode).

iCUE Version Requirement for Widget Availability: iCUE version 5.47 or later is required to use the widgets. We recommend always updating to the latest version of iCUE for the best experience.

Wired Connection Required: To use iCUE widgets, connect the keyboard to your PC with a USB cable and use the keyboard in wired mode.

Enable Screen Widgets for Dial Control for Vanguard 96 series: In iCUE, go to the Rotary Dial tab, enable Screen Widget, and select it as the dial function. Once enabled, you can use the rotary dial to switch between widgets and interact with supported widget functions.

Switching Between Widgets

You can switch between widgets using the following controls:

Vanguard 96 / Vanguard 96 Wireless / Vanguard PRO 96: Press FN + Left/Right Arrow, or turn the dial.

Vanguard AIR 99 WL: Press FN + Left/Right Arrow.

How It Works

The widget fetches real-time quote data on an automated polling cycle and formats asset information across three dedicated row slots:

Market Direction: Stock prices with positive daily percent changes display in green, while declining assets are highlighted in red.

Adaptive Price Formatting: Automatically adjusts decimal precision based on stock value—using standard two decimals for typical prices and four decimal places for sub-dollar values.

Smart Polling: Refreshes pricing every 10 seconds during active operation, switching to a 15-second retry interval if a network error occurs.

API Key Detection: Displays a clear setup warning on canvas if no Finnhub API key has been configured.

Customization & Controls

API Key Field: Text field to enter your personal Finnhub API key. (Note: You will need to create a free Finnhub account to obtain a free API key).

Stock Tickers: Three individual search comboboxes with auto-complete ticker search and automatic duplicate filtering.

Background Color: Custom color selector for the widget backdrop.
