Guitar Tuner
by SquierStream
Overview
Turn any Stream Deck key into a real chromatic tuner. Guitar Tuner listens to your microphone (or any audio input) and shows the nearest string as a big letter with a sharp/flat gauge above it -- the key's background turns green when you're in tune, amber when you're close, and red when you're off, so you can tune at a glance without squinting at a phone app mid-set.
TUNER MODE matches whatever you play against the tuning you've selected -- Standard plus dozens of alternates for both guitar and bass, covering Drop D, Open tunings, Half/Whole Step Down, DADGAD-style variants and more, each labelled with its exact note sequence so there's no guessing. Bass gets its own tuning set, including the standard 5-string low-B tuning.
NOTE MODE (press the key to switch) drops the tuning target and simply names whatever note is sounding, chromatically -- and shows you where that note lives, two ways:
Treble staff -- the note on a proper staff with a G clef, ledger lines and accidentals. It uses the octave-transposing treble clef that guitar and bass are actually written in, so your low E reads as E3 where a player expects it rather than falling off the bottom of the staff.
Guitar neck -- a fretboard diagram marking every place that note can be played, in the instrument and tuning you've chosen. Open strings show as a ring beside the nut, fretted notes as a dot. Play in Drop D and the diagram follows; switch to bass and it redraws with the right strings.
Handy for working out an unfamiliar riff, checking a note away from your tuning, or just learning where things sit on the neck.
Everything runs locally -- no cloud service, no account, no added latency.
Features
Big note letter with a sharp/flat gauge and green/amber/red in-tune feedback, rendered directly on the key.
Two modes, one button: TUNER MODE for tuning accuracy, NOTE MODE for chromatic note detection -- toggled with a single key press.
NOTE MODE shows the note on a treble staff or on a guitar neck (tab-style fretboard diagram) -- your choice in settings.
Guitar and bass, each with its own tuning list: Standard plus alternates (Drop D, Open G/C/D/A, Half/Whole Step Down and more), every option labelled with its note sequence.
Optional frequency (Hz) readout under the note.
Works with any audio input -- built-in mic, USB interface, whatever you route your signal through.
100% local processing (YIN pitch detection), no internet connection required.
NOTE MODE display setting: show the sounding note on a treble staff, or on a guitar-neck diagram marking every position for that note in your tuning.
NOTE MODE now draws proper notation in place of the tuning gauge.
New app icon and in-app plugin artwork.
Renamed for clarity: the category is "Guitar Tuner", the action is "Tuner".
Fixed a layout bug where the note letter could overlap the frequency readout.
