Snippet Trigger

Snippet Trigger puts your text-expander snippets on Stream Deck keys. Press a key and it types your abbreviation into whatever app is in front, exactly as if you had typed it yourself. Your expander sees it and does the rest: inserts the snippet, fills in dates and fields, and places the cursor where you told it to.

The snippet stays defined in one place and everything your expander does well keeps working. Works with TextExpander, Typinator, Rocket Typist, Espanso and macOS Text Replacement.

How it works:

Enter the trigger prefix (e.g. "$") and the abbreviation (e.g. "date") in two separate boxes — so your expander doesn't fire while you're setting up the key

Optionally follow it with Space, Return or Tab, for expanders that wait for a delimiter

Press the key. The plugin types "$date" into the frontmost app and the expander takes over

On-key feedback: a tick on success, "Allow access" if permission is missing

Requirements: macOS 12+ and Stream Deck 6.9+. Typing into other apps needs Accessibility permission for Stream Deck (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility).

Native Apple silicon build, no Rosetta needed — a drop-in replacement for the AppleScript-keystroke workaround that broke when Rosetta went away.
