UniFi Protect Monitoring

Overview
Cameras
- Camera Health - pick one camera, or "All cameras" for a green/red dot-per-camera overview. Rotate (dial) or short-press (key) cycles through them.
Camera Snapshot - a live JPEG still, correctly letterboxed to the square key canvas (never stretched/distorted). Short press cycles to the next camera; long press (key) or push (dial) saves the current photo to disk - one timestamped file per capture, defaulting to Pictures\Protect Snapshots with a native folder picker to choose your own, and a periodic refresh (2000ms default) that updates the display without saving every tick.
LED Toggle - turns a camera's physical status LED on/off.
Sensors
- Sensor Status - pick one sensor, or "All sensors" for an overview tile. Auto mode shows open/closed for door sensors, or combined temperature/humidity/lux/leak readings for environmental ones, colour-coded against each reading's configured safe range. Dedicated Motion, Glass break, and Leak metrics are also available.
System Status - camera and sensor online counts at a glance.
Air Quality - smoke/CO/vape detection plus a numeric air-quality reading, including an "All metrics" combined view. Experimental: no UniFi Protect sensor confirmed to expose this data exists today.
Lighting & Relays
Light Status - on/off, motion-detected, and dark/daylight state for a Protect Light. Fully verified against real hardware.
Relay Toggle - experimental, built against a real-but-empty API response GET /relays) with a best-effort guessed schema - the author owns no relay device to verify it against.
How it talks to your console
- Every action authenticates with a local API key generated once from your console's own settings - requests go straight to your console's local address, nothing leaves your LAN, no UniFi cloud account involved.
All 8 actions share one connection by default, configured once from any action's Property Inspector.
Per-action host override lets any individual key or dial connect to a different console instead - useful if you manage more than one Protect installation.
Every Property Inspector is organized into Plugin / Actions / Appearance tabs.
Camera Health, Sensor Status, Air Quality, and System Status have independently configurable Safe/Alert (and Text) colours; the rest share a plugin-wide Main/Accent theme. Every colour has its own reset-to-default button.
Requirements
- A UniFi Protect console (UDM, UDM Pro, Cloud Gateway, or similar) on your local network.
A local API key, generated from the console's own settings - https://developer.ui.com/
Stream Deck+ dial actions require Stream Deck+ hardware; the 8 Keypad actions work on any Stream Deck.
New: an "Image Fit" setting for Camera Snapshot (both the key and the dial).
Fixed: rotating the Camera Snapshot dial quickly could skip or repeat cameras
