Overview
Focusrite Plugin
The Focusrite Plugin brings fast hands-on control of your Focusrite interface to Stream Deck and Stream Deck+ (for Dial support). Stay in the flow with direct access to mic preamps, channels, monitor outputs, and live visual feedback on every key. Built for producers, engineers, podcasters, and live streamers who want speed, clarity, and reliability in real sessions.
What's inside?
Inputs & Preamps: Phantom Power (+48V), Hi-Z / Instrument, Pad, Air (Off / Presence / Presence + Harmonic Drive on Gen 4), Auto Gain, Clip Safe, Impedance Mode, Channel Link, and Digital Gain on Gen 4 with press-and-hold to step in fine increments.
Channels: Mute, Solo, Pan, Level, wherever your interface offers them in software. The right controls show up automatically per input, output, mix, and monitor.
Monitor: Monitor Volume, Mono, Mute, Dim, Alt Speakers and Talkback on interfaces with software-controlled monitoring (Scarlett 16i16 / 18i16 / 18i20 4th Gen, and Gen 1-3 / Clarett). Direct Monitor on Gen 4.
Mixer: every send named after its source, on Gen 1-3 and on the big Gen 4 models (beta), which also get a Mute per input in every mix.
Routing, Presets & Clock: outputs show their source by name, a speakers / headphones flip on Gen 4, device presets on Gen 1-3, and Clock Source on multi-clock interfaces.
Scene keys: hold to capture your interface's setup, press to recall it.
Dials (Stream Deck+ / + XL): separate Rotate and Press per dial. Rotate gain, monitor level, send level or pan, press for Mute, a toggle, a set value or a step. Low / Mid / High sensitivity, and a touchscreen readout with value, label and icon.
Good to know: the Scarlett Solo, 2i2 and 4i4 (4th Gen) have no software mute or monitor volume. Their volume is a knob on the unit (the 4i4 shows its position live on a key), so mute, monitor volume and the two-key Level fader need one of the models above.
Visual Feedback True two-way live sync: any change on your interface or in Focusrite Control shows on your Stream Deck instantly, with no idle load. If the connection drops, it returns on its own. Swap in another unit of the same model and your keys and dials carry over by themselves; on a different model, pick it once in the Device dropdown and each key keeps its function. A dedicated icon set shows every state at a glance, with a distinct icon per value for Air, Auto Gain, Direct Monitor, Clock Source and more.
Setup
Install the plugin.
Scarlett Gen 1-3 or Clarett: run Focusrite Control 1. Scarlett Gen 4: connect it over USB and keep Focusrite Control 2 closed (on Windows, keep the Focusrite software installed).
Windows, Gen 1-3: the first time, Focusrite Control lists the plugin under Remote Devices as "Stream Deck (Focusrite)". Click Approve once.
Add a Control action, or a Dials action on Stream Deck+, and choose device, channel, section and function.
Compatibility macOS and Windows: Scarlett Gen 1 / 2 / 3 and Clarett through Focusrite Control 1, Scarlett Gen 4 directly over USB (on Windows through the installed Focusrite driver). Rule of thumb: if your interface shows up in Focusrite Control 1, the plugin can control it. Controls that users have not confirmed yet on a model are marked "(beta)".
Not supported: the Red range (managed through RedNet Control 2, which this plugin cannot connect to), and Vocaster / ISA C8X (these require Focusrite Control 2).
- Fixed: Headphones 2 controlled Monitor 1-2 on the Scarlett 16i16, 18i16 and 18i20 (4th Gen).
- Fixed: mix keys beyond Mix A changed Mix A (same models). Existing mix keys: pick the mix again once.
- New: a mixer that reads like Focusrite Control 2 (beta): "Mix A L" / "Mix A R", sends named after their source, and a Mute per input per mix that restores the exact level.
- Fixed: a plop when switching 48V or Inst on the Scarlett Solo, 2i2 and 4i4 (4th Gen).
- Fixed: wrong settings after a firmware update on the big 4th Gen models until Stream Deck was restarted.
- Fixed: the plugin no longer keeps knocking on other apps' local ports (Pro Tools, Photo Mechanic).
- Fixed: approval lost after a restart (Windows, Gen 1-3). Approve once and it stays approved.
- New: outputs that follow your interface's volume knob say so, instead of a dial that looks broken.
- Out of beta: 2i2 Air and Gain, 4i4 48V, 16i16 and 18i16 48V, 18i16 monitor Mute, 18i20 output levels and master volume, and 4th Gen on Windows.
- Plus: clearer notices, "What your model can do" in Help, outputs 3-4 volume on the 4i4 (beta), and press-and-hold keys that stop at the end of the range.
- Fixed: 1.0.0.7 could not find Focusrite Control on Windows (Scarlett 1st-3rd Gen, Clarett). It connects again as "Stream Deck (Focusrite)"; approved before means nothing to do. A nameless Remote Devices entry can be rejected.
