Internet Health Pro
by PackRat 🐀
Overview
Internet Health Pro turns Stream Deck into an always-visible connection health monitor.
See whether your connection is GOOD, DEGRADED, BAD, or OFFLINE, then see why. Track native latency over time, rolling jitter, observed probe loss, recent outages, uptime, individual target health, and manual throughput tests without opening a browser.
Internet Health Pro uses a shared native monitoring engine for every key. Where the operating system supports it, latency starts with ICMP. Independent TCP-connect and DNS checks help distinguish a blocked ping from a real outage, and HTTPS response timing is always labeled as HTTPS response timing instead of being presented as ping.
Whole-internet outages require multiple independent checks to fail. One unavailable website does not mark your entire connection offline. DNS failure, high latency, high jitter, probe loss, target outage, and full internet outage are reported as different conditions.
Included actions: Internet Health, Latency, Jitter / Loss, Outage, Target Health, Speed Test, and Health Summary. Target Health can monitor a host or service using ICMP, TCP connect, DNS lookup, or HTTP/HTTPS response timing.
Included default dashboards auto-install for the major Stream Deck models: standard/MK.2, XL, Plus, and Neo. They never force-switch your active profile.
There is no opaque universal health score. Warning and bad thresholds for latency, jitter, and probe loss are user-adjustable. The plugin stores bounded health history locally and sends no PackRat telemetry.
Background monitoring uses conservative tiny probes and backs off during failures. Speed tests are manual only and use a warmed adaptive Cloudflare measurement capped at approximately 300 MB per run so fast connections get a long enough multi-stream sample to measure credibly. Optionally set your expected download and upload speeds so a manual result can be labeled LOW when it falls below your own explicit percentage threshold.
Part of the PackRat ecosystem.
• Responsive 1-second-default health monitoring with 5-second and slower cadence options
• Native ICMP latency with honest TCP, DNS, and HTTPS diagnostic labels
• Rolling jitter, observed probe loss, outage duration, uptime, and local history
• User-selected Target Health monitoring with explicit IPv4 / IPv6 controls
• Manual-only multi-stream speed tests with equally prominent download/upload results and optional expected-speed LOW thresholds
• Included default dashboards for standard/MK.2, XL, Plus, and Neo
