Browser Media Controls

Browser Media Controls brings browser media control to your Stream Deck, with deep integration for keys, dials, the Browser Media Controls Windows app, and modern browser extensions.

Control YouTube, YouTube Music, Twitch, Kick, Netflix, SoundCloud, Plex web, and many other media websites without leaving your current game, app, or workspace.

What It Does

Browser Media Controls connects your Stream Deck to active browser media sessions through the required browser extension. You can control playback, switch between media tabs, focus the playing tab, close media tabs, view live metadata, and build your own Stream Deck media layout.

Windows App Integration

Browser Media Controls also works with the Browser Media Controls Windows app for Dynamic Island, flyout, widgets, taskbar controls, hotkeys, and the Now Playing page.

Dial Support

Use Stream Deck dials for fast, tactile media control:

- Rotate to seek, change volume, or switch media, depending on your selected action.

- Press to play/pause, mute, switch media, focus tab, close tab, or run another selected media action.

- Touch or long press to trigger configurable media actions.

- View live media titles, progress, volume, playback state, and site information.

- Adjust seek step, title scroll speed, tile behavior, and more.

Key Support

Use Stream Deck keys for compact media controls:

- Media Controls Key for click, double click, and long press actions.

- Media Info Key for live media metadata display.

- Single-action controls for play/pause, mute, seek, volume, focus tab, close tab, and switch media.

- Add multiple Media Controls keys or dials to automatically create media tiles for multiple active tabs.

Media Switching

Switch Media lets you control more than one active media session from the same key or dial. For example, you can watch YouTube, switch control to Twitch, and then control Twitch without rebuilding your Stream Deck layout.

You can also enable Focus when switching media, which focuses the selected media tab when you switch to it.

Universal Media Settings

Use Universal Media Settings to decide which websites should be included in media controls:

- Whitelist URLs to control only selected websites.

- Blacklist URLs to exclude websites from media controls.

- Lock a key or dial to a specific website.

- Use Other to lock media to a custom website URL.

- Keep paused media assigned to a key or dial if you want it to stay visible after pausing.

Universal media controls will allow it to work on other websites; some/a few websites might be broken.

Requirements

- Browser Media Controls browser extension is required.

- Browser Media Controls Windows app is optional but recommended.

- Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and other Chromium-based browsers use the Chrome extension.

- Firefox uses the Firefox add-on.

Notes

- Some websites may not allow changing the actual media player volume.

- Plex web support is new and may have some site-specific limitations.

IMPORTANT: Chrome v2 extension is under review. should be published soon; some functionality might be broken / bugged till its published Firefox v2 extension is published and ready to use!
