Unread Mail Counter

Overview

See your unread email count on a Stream Deck key for Gmail, Yahoo Mail, iCloud Mail and other IMAP accounts that sign in with a password, and know what waits without opening your mail. Each key counts one folder or label, only starred mail or only mail from one sender, and a press can open your mail in the browser.

New inbox mail shows within seconds on most servers. Keep work and personal accounts side by side, see the newest sender and subject on a Stream Deck + dial, and use it in English or Japanese.

Features

Unread Mail key: a big, clear number of unread emails in the folder or label you pick, turning green when mail is waiting

One press opens your mail: Gmail the same label or a search with the same filters, Yahoo, iCloud, AOL and other known services their webmail, or any web address you set

Any folder or label your server lists, Spam, Starred and folders named in any language included

Filters per key: only mail whose sender contains a name or address, only starred (flagged) mail, and for Gmail a search such as category:primary

Up to 5 accounts, typed in once and shared by every key

Stream Deck + dial: the unread count with the sender and subject of the newest unread email on the touch strip. Turn to switch accounts, push or tap to open your mail

Mail you read on your phone leaves the inbox count within seconds on most servers; other folders are checked every 30 seconds to 15 minutes

Read only: never marks mail as read, moves or deletes anything

Five looks: Classic, Neon, Ring, Bars and Solid

Clear when something is wrong: offline, with no answer or on a server error, the key keeps the last count with a small mark; a wrong password shows Check password; the settings page says what happened

Setup

Drag Unread Mail onto a key and type your email address. Gmail, Yahoo, Yahoo! JAPAN, iCloud, AOL, GMX, Zoho, Fastmail and Yandex are found from the address (Zoho business: type your Zoho server); for other mail, type the IMAP server

Paste the password for mail apps. Gmail (2-Step Verification on): Google Account > Security > App passwords. iCloud: App-Specific Passwords. Yahoo and AOL: Account security > Generate app password. Yahoo! JAPAN: in Yahoo! Mail settings, allow IMAP access from other services, then use your ID password

Pick the folder or label and, if you like, a filter

FAQ How do I show my unread Gmail count on a Stream Deck? Add the Unread Mail key, then type your Gmail address and a Google app password in its settings. The key shows the unread count of your inbox and updates when new mail arrives.

Does it work with Yahoo Mail, iCloud Mail or my own domain? Yes, for mailboxes that mail apps open with IMAP and a password. Big services are found from the address; for others, type the IMAP server from your provider's help.

Can I count only one label or only mail from my boss? Yes. Each key has its own folder or label, a sender filter and a starred-only switch.

Privacy Passwords stay in the Stream Deck app on your PC, out of exported profiles, and go only to your mail server over an encrypted connection. No server of ours, no tracking.
